Exquisite antique Guipure d’Irlande floral crocheted table runner with tassels. This is a beauty and has survived the passing of time remarkably well.
There are 18 beautiful flowers which are incorporated into the main area. The work is fine and intricate and almost lace like in appearance. There are areas where the work has come apart, there are small stains dotted about. Tassled edging and the cotton fabric has two layers. Some of the flowers have a tea stained look but this piece has been loved and used and is still very much intact whilst retaining all of its charm.
This would look amazing on a dinner table for a special occasion with candlesticks etc, the ambiance it will help provide will be extraordinary! It dates from the beginning of the 1900’s and was found it France.
