Absolutely stunning and rare vintage French embroidered on hemp tablecloth. Hand stitched in woollen yarn on a beautiful hemp fabric as opposed to linen, the attention to detail is wonderful. It’s a work of art! I have never found a tablecloth in hemp or as beautifully embroidered as this.
The florals surround the cloth and there is also a stitched border. Please see all the images for an idea of all the floral detail. You also have 4 sprigs close to the centre. There are 2 small stains in pink and one repair. This has survived the passing of the years remarkably well.
It measures 55” (141cm) x 64” (164cm)
This is a tablecloth to appreciate and treasure, a one off!
